Filled with dozens of significant temples, Coimbatore has a certain aura hovering in its air. The city rests on the banks of the Noyyal River and is considered the traditional hub of Tamil Nadu, where you can experience the dominance of local dance, music and other forms. The people here are very welcoming, who will make your stay even more memorable with their hospitality. That said, we have created an itinerary of must-visit places and experiences that you should have in the city to make your trip worthwhile.
Dhyanalinga Temple
As the name suggests, Dhyanlinga Temple is a place where people from across the world come to meditate. The temple was built by the prestigious Auroville Earth Institute in 1999, sheltering a 14 feet mercury-based linga to contain the energy that comes from it.

Breakfast
While being in the southernmost part of India, you can’t keep yourself deprived of the signature south Indian dish, Idli Sambar. In fact, you would not be able to do so even if you wanted to because the place is loaded with such eateries. So, the wisest thing to do is to find a convenient eatery and savour the traditional breakfast.
Adiyogi Shiva
If you thought 14 feet Shiva Linga was enough to impress you at Dhyanalinga, then get ready to be blown away by the 112 feet tall Shiva statue known as Adiyogi Shiva. In fact, the statute is also recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records for its massiveness.

After devoting some time to God, you can now devote some to relish delicious local food. Our recommendation is to try Kongunadu Biryani for lunch which is a type of white biryani.
