Day 1: Joshimath – Local sightseeing
Arrive at Joshimath, which is 265 km from Jolly Grant Airport. Check in, get fresh and begin your exploration journey with local attractions.

Make your first stop at Shri Shankaracharya Math, a monastery dating back to the 8th century.

Rest and acclimatise
End your day early to give yourself time to rest and acclimatise according to your surroundings.

Day 2: Joshimath – Govindghat- Ghangaria
Govindghat
Start your day early and embark on a short road trip to Govindghat, which is at a distance of 16 km from Joshimath.
Ghangaria
- Stretch out a bit before starting a 14 km trek to Ghangaria. The difficulty level of this trek is moderate and will take around 7 to 8 hours to complete. The trail takes you through lush green mountains and the Lakshman Ganga River.
- Call-it-a-day at Ghangaria village, where you will get plenty of hotel options.

Day 3: Ghangaria – Valley of Flowers – Ghangaria
- Get up early, warm up, and carry on with your trip to the Valley of Flowers. It will take 3 to 4 hours to reach the valley, 4 km away from Ghangaria. After arriving, take time to enjoy the stunning, vivid colours before taking, of course, a thousand pictures!
- Return to Ghangaria by evening.

Day 4: Ghangaria – Hemkund Sahib – Ghangaria
- Start your day with a hot beverage before embarking on a comparatively difficult trek to HemKund Sahib. The length of one leg of the journey is 6 km which will probably take 3-4 hours to complete. It is recommended to take enough breaks as you might feel a reduced oxygen level in the air.
- Offer your respect at the gurudwara and take a dip in the holy lake.
- The weather up there is unpredictable, so it’s advisable to start descending early to reach Ghangaria before dusk.

Day 5: Ghangaria – Govindghat – Joshimath
It is time to bid goodbye to the beautiful village of Ghangaria! Trek back to Govindghat, from where you can return to your source location, Joshimath or can travel to Auli to do some more exploration.
